Bont Prostar Suede Skates are a totally fresh take on Bont's entry-level Prostar, which sees the traditional black microfiber construction replaced with pastel-colored suede leather. Regardless of material, the Prostar is a boot designed to be light, responsive, and heat moldable - a boot designed for each individual that wears it. Thermoplastic in the heel allows you to mold your boot with a hairdryer in order to obtain a custom fit in under 10 minutes. The boot's fiberglass base ensures a strong and responsive ride, while the Prodigy Plate, Glide Wheels, and ABEC 5 bearings work together to keep you rolling fast and smooth.
Comments: First off, these are beautiful. Might be because I'm newer at derby skates but the plates don't seem to be mounted correctly? One wheel never touches the ground which is weird. The other issue I have is that these are incredibly light weight. That could be a positive for some but it feels weird as fresh meat. Might keep them for a bit longer to see how I like them but I might get a metal plate instead of the Prodigy plate to see if that ends up working a bit better. From: Anonymous, Florida, 2/24/21
Comments: Update: After skating with them for a bit, the prodigy plate isn't my favorite. I ordered a few of these skates to get the sizing right (the size that Bont said I was ended up being too painful so I went a half size up) and on each skate, a bearing has gotten stuck. Switched the plate to the one that comes on the Park Stars and although it makes the skate heavier, it's a dream. Highly recommend switching your plates right out of the gate otherwise, these are beautiful! From: Anonymous, Orlando, FL, 4/4/21
