Customer Reviews
A good wrist guard for hot weatherI own the Ennui City Brace wristguard and while it offers superior protection and comfort, it also gets really hot. I wanted something similar that is cooler to wear and more breathable. This wristguard is it. I did get it on sale for $30, so the value for my purchase is good. At $50 you may find the price too high. The splint can be removed for washing. I added black electric tape to the palm to protect the stitching. This is the main flaw. As you fall abrasions will remove the stitching causing the splint to become loose. The fit is true to size. Your results may vary. A good wristguard with only a minor flaw.
Love the splint, protective but its stinkyLove the splint. Fabric on top of the split wore out quickly, though, and ended up having to tape it back in. I wish I had just worn thin gloves on top to mitigate that. They are also slide-ons, so they don't open up all the way, so they always slightly smell if you do derby, unfortunately. I can't get rid of the smell. Couldn't really find anything better and didn't like the city brace compared to this because that is a whole different product (it has a thin aluminum splint instead of a wide plastic splint). The big splint has spoiled me. It is so hard to find a duplicate, especially since Ennui changed the street and powerslide standard ones to be less wide and have a smoother look. I'm not sure if this splint got replaced too, since I haven't replaced mine, but I hope it hasn't !! I'm still using my worn-out ones with tape and gloves on top of them to keep the splint in. Felt a bit too stiff at first. The wrist guard itself has gotten less stiff over time, but is still stiff. I don't feel it is lacking when trying on other wrist guards that are in new condition.
Liked themHad no issue with splint staying in and really like these. Super comfy and the lacing makes them feel super secure.
Not for Roller DerbyJust bought these. I had my first practice last night and the hard plastic white strip kept popping out of place. It would not stay in. Do not buy these if you intend to use them for derby.
