ENNUI Ave Knee Gaskets possess a hard cap, so don't be fooled by the name! In fact, these slide-on gaskets are very low profile while still high on protection. In addition to the riveted PE hard cap, there are high-density EVA foam inserts surrounding your knee that give protection for spills both forward or to either side. Because each insert is separate from the other, the gasket offers a very snug fit and plenty of flexibility. Inside each gasket, there are two non-slip strips (top and bottom) that further enhance security while two wrap-around Velcro straps secure from the outside.
Comments: These are the kneepads I've been looking for my whole life! I have gotten really tired of 187 and Triple 8 kneepads limiting my joint mobility at the skatepark and also sliding when I would take a hit to the knee. While I'll keep those for derby, these Ennui pads have both the articulation I want for freely jumping and moving around and the grip to stay put where I need them. That being said, they offer lighter protection and I have still bruised my knee on the sides of the plate, so they're probably best for lower risk activities. From: Johanna, Chicago IL, 6/24/21
Comments: Was looking for a lightweight pad that offered good mobility and comfort. Tried most of what 187 had to offer, along with a few of the foam-only slip on pads. The 187s were really comfortable and safe, but bulky. The Rollerblade brand would slip and was uncomfortable. The amazon slip on foam-only rebrands were comfortable, but offered no protection. These Ennui were just right. Machine washable every few weeks. Light, mobile, comfortable for freestyle, fitness, and maybe extreme skating styles. I absolutely love these pads. Looking forward to the elbow pads when they're in stock. From: Jason, Pembroke Pines, FL, 8/5/21
