Overview

The Lightning name is nostalgic from the 1990's but here it is with many modern upgrades. The Rollerblade Lightning 80 Women's Skates look great in white and teal, with comfortability and durability to suit any skater in any environment. Although labeled "women's"  by RB, it is really a unisex model that fits the same as the Rollerblade Lightning 80 Men's.  If looking for a darker color way, check out the men's version and just size down one size.

One very important change is the Memory Buckles on both the 45-degree and cuff area. This allows you to get them on and off faster than most, with micro-adjustability set and remembered for the next time you skate. Lightning Liners are super comfortable with anatomical padding. Inside are PSI footbeds, shock erasers, and footboard sizers for fit adjustments. The boots are nice and strong with plenty of ventilation cutouts and replaceable lateral sliders.  So they are strong and responsive for urban freestyle skating, but with airflow (more than the Maxxum and Twister) and comfort to skate for fitness, commuting, or just for fun! The base of the boots have metal frame mounting blocks to attach strong extruded aluminum frames (removable and adjustable) for efficient energy transfer and synergy between the boot and frame. Inside is high-quality Urban 80mm 85A Wheels & SG7 Bearings (brake is included in the box).

KEY TECHNOLOGIES

Footboard Sizer
A slim insole that removes/adds volume when placed under the footbed. Included in the skate box, they help each boot cover a full size range (i.e. 9.0-9.5), making them easy to size with the ability to provide a more snug or more relaxed fit.

Memory Buckle Closure System
Micro-adjustable buckles with multiple connection points. Once set, a single pull on the internal side allows the skater to get out of the skates quickly, and back in them at the same precise setting enjoyed previously without any adjustment.

Sizing Chart

GENERAL SKATE SIZING GUIDELINES
Measure both feet with socks similar to those in which you intend to skate. Then use the measurement of the longest point and reference the model-specific size chart to determine size. How to Measure Your Feet for Skates.
Proper fit has the toes not being cramped against the front. Toes may slightly brush the front as heels will settle back when in the skating position. Try on skates indoors while in a seated position. Lace and buckle both skates, tap your heels to the floor, and then stand and bend your knees to simulate the skating position. How to Try on Inline Skates for Fit.

2024 "Black Lightning" 11.0Stock bearings and wheels, above average fast, 1st time on a metal frame that dampened the st. Vibration so well. So smooth Im skating on Tibetan prayer wheels. Boot was great for 1st part of year now they r worn and ankles tend to get sore. Negatives frame came apart repeatedly had to lock tite them. Lace holes rusted! Had to sand and hit w/ rustoleum

Love theseSuper cute and awesome. I wear a size 10 in womens shoes. I usually wear a size 9 in skates but ordered these in the 10/10.5 and they fit perfect. However, if you have super thick area above the ankles you'll find it hard to get them fastened. My left leg swells and i had to have help just getting the first clip in and i couldn't buckle it fully. I was still able to skate in them just fine though with the first buckle and the laces. I 100% recommend these.

The Lightning's and Rollerblade are backI started skating in the 90s. My wife (college sweetheart at the time) had the original Lightning TRS skates and I had the Macroblade ES. When I called Inline Warehouse for new skates for my daughter, I was surprised to hear that Rollerblade brought back the Lightning namesake. These skates are like a perfect cross between the Lightning TRS and Macroblades that I skated, modernized with 80mm wheels, faster bearings and an aluminum frame! While they might not be as rugged as the original Lightnings, they are lighter and more breathable. Only complaint is that the frame is not rockerable. FWIW, I currently skate Seba FR1s.

Love ItI'm really enjoying the skates! They are really comfortable, I like the insert that helps it fit a little more snuggly, and the wheels...Oh My Gosh...the wheels, they are soooo smooth. You feel like you are gliding when you are on the skates. Overall, a really great beginner skate that is fun to use!

Solid skatesVery solid skates. I haven't skated inlines in several years but decided to pick it up again and I'd say these are great for that purpose. The memory cuff buckle is absolutely fantastic so I don't need to continually crank the buckles. I normally am a size 7.5 when buying quads or inlines but I had to size up.

Love themI just got my Lightning Rollerblades and I love them. They are comfortable in the foot area and the color is gorgeous. My only complaint is the upper buckle is too tight against my leg, even on its biggest setting. So it feels like it’s squeezing it too tight and there is no way to loosen it. I tried without it buckled down and that was too loose. This is my first pair of rollerblades so I haven’t tried the original buckles to compare. But I imagine it gives you a wider range of fits. It seems the memory buckles don’t have as big of a span of size for the buckle adjustments. I would say my calf size is above average for a woman. I’ve always been bigger-boned. And the memory buckles don’t adjust to fit my calf. The size is accurate. I normally wear a size 9 shoe and after measuring my feet, the size chart recommended the 9-9.5 size. It’s fits perfectly with the footboard inserted.

Size upI haven’t skated in them but look to be good quality. Nice hard boot with ventilation. I purchased size 7-7.5, SIZE UP. I normally wear a ladies/womens 7 in shoes and even in other skates. This was way too tight, my toes were scrunched up. I will update my review once I get the size exchange.
