This is the oneThis is the glove you want for hands on pavement at speed. I did put them to the test once, and the plastic puck worked perfectly as designed, skidding along so you can keep your weight on your hands instead of your face. Used for a year with occasional laundering and they got stinky but held up pretty well. Main downside was they aren't warm enough for cold weather. There doesn't seem to be a winter version, and they're bulky enough that mittens have to be very oversized to layer over them. For my boring style of distance skating, I've switched to Powerslide speed skating gloves, which are cooler and more convenient, i.e. easier to reach in pockets etc. But if i ever have a reason to put my hand down while moving fast, I may regret not having these Seba gloves on.

Comments:  My favorite part of gear and the one part I am have to put on. I removed the wrist splints and left the palm protection. It has saved palms so many times. The pull tabs are very durable and the Velcro even fit around my watch. The breath well and allow you to use your hands.Even with the protective caps on I can still get my phone out of my pocket adjust music or respond to a text.

Comments: The. Perfect. Glove! Lightweight. Breathable.  You can remove both the plastic palm and the wrist bar to make a glove with more freedom of movement that still protects. Pull tab between middle fingers makes taking them off real easy after skating. Glove is both durable and well ventilated to keep hands safe and as cool as possible while skating.  I personally HATE wearing most pads, especially gloves but not these. In fact they are so comfortable I can use the cliche "I don't even notice they're on" ha ha!
