The Triple 8 KP 44 Knee Pads are strong, low-profile, and super comfortable. They aren't necessarily made with vert skaters in mind but they are made for intense skaters who are looking for comfortable protection with lots of abrasion resistance and optimal features. They have replaceable kneecaps which are compatible with the 187 Lock-In Cap system but they have a unique cut-out on the bottom which allows for more movement, especially aggressive stances.

They can easily fit under or over pants as they aren't too thick with heavy-duty EVA foam that has a horse-shoe shape to hook onto your kneecaps. Butterfly straps go to the side, keeping them out of the way from movement. The top and bottom velcro straps come too long intentionally so that you can cut and tailor them to your own body.

Sizing Chart

GENERAL KNEE PAD SIZING GUIDELINES
Measure the circumference 3-4 inches above and below the knee, or around the knee joint itself. Be sure to reference the model-specific size chart to determine size. We recommend ordering up if between sizes.
Triple 8 Tip: If your measurements are in-between the sizes shown or you're simply in doubt, we strongly recommend sizing up to the larger size. We have found over the years that customers do better when they choose the larger size.

Big and not for meFirst, the sizing guide is wrong. I measured in the XL range and bought the XL. The top Velcro strap was too long to make contact when I was wearing it. I tried the Large and they fit much better, but I didn't end up keeping them. These things would be great for skate park use but were too bulky/restrictive at the back of the knee for speed skating.

A great investment!I was previously using the Triple 8 KP 22 knee pads. But these KP 44's are much more comfortable! They stay on the knee in place like they should and I don't have to readjust them barely at all as I'm skating around! And as far as I can tell, they are just as protective. I've used them outside and at the roller rink a good bit. Had some good falls, no injuries. I was dealing with a bad knee injury from a fall about 6 months or so ago, so these pads are great for me. They don't limit my movement too much, where the old ones I was using did limit my movement more. For reference, I got the same size that I had in my old KP 22's and they fit perfectly. So, I can easily recommend this product.
