The Ennui Elite Helmet is the accumulation of three years of testing and development, resulting in this revolutionary action sports helmet.

Traditional skate helmets are constructed using EPS foam that is injected into molds and then glued to the plastic shell. Ennui Elite helmets have an EPS foam honeycomb skeleton that is over-molded with PVC, meaning it is injected right over the EPS foam for a more stable and secure bond. This allows the helmet to be lower volume and lightweight (245g) without sacrificing protection. Each helmet includes a removable peak (brim) to keep the sun out of your eyes or just to help you look cool.

Included are 5mm, 8mm, and 10mm foam pads so that you can achieve the perfect fit. These pads and the adjustable head ring allow for the helmet to come in just one size that fits most heads (54-59cm)!

Cool helmet, but needs more size optionsI was excited to try this helmet because some skaters I follow online recommended it, and it seems like it would be less hot than my current helmet ('Thousand' brand, 'Chapter' model helmet AKA the world's sweatiest helmet). The long-billed removable hat on this Ennui helmet is a genius idea, both as a sweat-catcher and sun-blocker and the ability to easily wash it. This helmet also is one of the cooler-looking helmets I've seen - I dig how it's less bulky on the sides, it's lighter in weight, and comes in a lot of different colors. So I double-checked prior to ordering and according to their description and size recommendations, this helmet should have fit me. Unfortunately, the only way I could get it on my head was to not add any of the different size pads they include in the box (meant for upsizing or downsizing the interior, and perhaps also an integral part of the protection, I'm not sure), and even after taking those pads out, the helmet was squeezing my head painfully around the temple area. I should note that due to my head size, companies using the 'one size fits all' approach, like Ennui does with this helmet, rarely fit my head. But it's not like my head is insanely large, haha. (For perspective, neither I nor anyone I know has ever given my head size a second thought, until I started helmet shopping). The other thing I want to note is that I've also experienced Ennui's sizing charts being inaccurate with other products too, like their ankle booties. The chart for those says 'if your shoe size is within this range, order x size ankle booties' and despite following that, they didn't fit me. So in conclusion: 1) this helmet design is really cool and I would totally order it if they offered a larger size, and 2) if you're ordering an Ennui product, be aware of these discrepancies with their sizing charts - you might need to size up.
