The K2 Alexis 80 ALU Skates  can cruise around if you want to with easy to manage 80mm wheels, but with ALUminum frames they outperform other 80mm models in the K2 lineup with more efficient energy transfer to the wheels for those that also are looking to do some light fitness skating activities. You still get to enjoy the comfort of K2 SoftBoots that they are known for whether skating for fun or for fitness.

Features K2 80mm 80A wheels (ABEC5 Bearings) that are soft enough for indoor rink skating. They can also smooth out the bumps when skating outdoors.  However, if skating strictly outdoors, replacing with harder (82A or higher) wheels after these are worn down will improve speed and durability. K2 SoftBoots (integrated liners - not removable) are well-ventilated and comfortable right out of the box  without any need for break-in. Skates come with a brake attached.

ComfortableI skated as a kid and am getting back into it in my 30s. These skates are super comfortable and I've enjoyed using them so far. I was a bit unsure about the lacing but I actually like it much better than traditional string laces. The loops on the back of the boot and the tongue are helpful. The only potential I see for issues (way down the road) is the velcro strap, but the skates could probably be used comfortably without it.

Fantastic street skateMy daughter was heartbroken when my 30-year old roller blades finally succumbed to two generations of thorough enjoyment and adventure. Apparently, she was skating and the plastic ankle fastener gave way. Even when the original sock started breaking apart at the back and the plastic groaned loudly under force from literally decades of twists, turns, and jumps, things were still holding together until the ankle strap finally snapped. Reserving any hope for replacing such beloved skates, my 23 yr old daughter hesitantly tried out the K2 Alexis 80 that I sent her. When shopping for new roller blades, I wanted something that would be as durable as my original skates, but also be less bulky and offer more agility for an active young adult. After using them, my daughter messaged me, enthusiastically stating how much she loved her new skates - how easily the wheels glided over city surfaces, and how comfy and mid-weight they were on her feet. Certainly a far cry from the heavy and bulky rollerblades of old lol. What compelled my purchase were the steel wheel brackets, the easy lacing mechanism, and the solid construction of the boot itself. Would absolutely purchase again!

Better fit than Powerslide wi easy on and offI tried K2 Alexis ALUs, Rollerblade Zetrablades, PowerSlide Fuzion Argon, Fuzion Enzo, and PowerSlide Swell, all in relatively similar sizes. I have a moderately wide foot and a tall arch. The K2 Alexis is the closest to fitting my foot, with a comfortable boot. They are also, by far, the fastest and easiest to put on and off. I find that one foot turns out over the frame, so I wish the frame could be adjusted. Also, my heel slips at times inside the boot while I am gripping for extra traction. The boot also doesn't feel very breathable. One of the wheels creaks/pop when I put weight into biting with my left foot. It's not a perfect skate, but it's the most comfortable and quick to get ready while keeping up with four youngsters. Supposedly I can mold the K2 a bit. That might help with the slightly loose heel. The PS Fuzion Argon and Enzo were too short and narrow. The Swell was too long and had a big toe box, but it was still rubbing uncomfortably on the side of one foot. I would have needed to size up for an Argon, and size down for a Swell, even though I tried them in the same women's size. I also could feel the plastic shell on the side of my foot in both, so I'm not sure if they ever would be fully comfortable. The Rollerblade Zetrablade dug into the back of my calf painfully, even with it unlaced and not strapped. It's way too much stiff boot for me. The boot on the K2 Alexis is so much more comfortable than the others that I'll probably try K2 Trios eventually. I just wish they had Trinity frames with a lower center of gravity.
