45 years ago, K2 was born as America's ski company on Vashon Island in Washington State's Puget Sound. Renamed in 2003 as K2 Sports, the company today is an international portfolio of 16 world-renowned brands and over 40 consumer product categories. In 1994, K2 introduced the SoftBoot technology for inline skates, and it's still the foundation of K2's entire line after over 30 years. More recently introduced on K2 Skates is the BOA Closure System, a system designed specifically for K2 to allow on-the-fly adjustment and nearly eliminate any pressure points in the boot. K2 Sports is what happens when fun meets science and technology.
