S1 Lifer Helmets have established themselves as one of the most popular helmet choices for skaters and action sports enthusiasts thanks to their deep, secure fit and high levels of impact protection. Every Lifer, regardless of shape or size, earns both high impact and multiple impact certifications while each run is batch tested to ensure quality and consistency. Over time, the line has evolved to include a variety of Lifer shells and a handful of interchangeable sizing liners.
The thickness of the soft-foam liner inside the helmet determines how snugly it will fit, not the size of the outer shells, which are actually all one size per Lifer model. This way, the size of any Lifer helmet can be adjusted simply by swapping out the liners. If the size is right then that precious ‘out of the box’ fit and feel is just as easily reclaimed with a quick exchange of liners.
In addition to the standard color-coded sizing liners, S1 has developed additional liners that enhance comfort and protection. Terry Cloth Liners are stock foam liners wrapped and sealed in a soft, moisture-wicking terry cloth that greatly extends their life expectancy. They followed that more recently with RAD Liners that ‘reduce, absorb, and disperse’ impacts and effectively supplement any Lifer’s already impressive protective capabilities.
Like the liners that rest inside, Lifer shells have evolved to include a variety of models that each add something unique to the Lifer blueprint. Mini and Mega Lifers exist to fit smaller and larger heads, respectively, than would fit in that standard Lifer’s size range. These three ‘original’ shells became six as S1 developed the Lifers Visor, Retro, and Full Face, each adding protections of their own above and beyond traditional skate helmets.
Any of these stylish Lifer shells works with any of the previously mentioned sizing liners and all of them are among the safest and best fitting helmets on the market.
